Employment Support

Many employees work in environments where they hear distressing stories and sometimes feel frustrated, lost or distressed by what they hear. They may also be dealing with their own difficulties, and often this can result in staff members being unable to fulfil their role to the best of their potential. NAVIGATING LIFE provides a safe space for staff to:-

  • talk confidentially about anything affecting their work

  • explore and find their solutions within company practices

  • improve their recognition of their stress triggers

  • improve communication skills.

Counselling

NAVIGATING LIFE's qualified counsellors can deliver sessions for individuals or couples.

INDIVIDUALS

We work to the person-centred model whereby we will provide a safe confidential space to listen to you and help YOU find YOUR solutions. Counselling can be challenging and may open up previously suppressed feelings. Our counsellors will work at your pace and help you focus on your feelings sometimes by working more creatively. YOU set the agenda and we will be beside you.

COUPLES

Couples counselling is provided by Ann who is trained in the RELATE model. If you are experiencing difficulties in your relationship eg.,communication, an affair or any other issues please contact Ann

 

ON-LINE AND TELEPHONE COUNSELLING

Sharon has considerable experience in on-line and telephone counselling in addition to working face to face. 

We offer a free 30 minute initial assessment for all clients and sessions thereafter are £40, payable in advance. 

SUPERVISION

Ann and Reshma can offer supervision to counsellors. Our fees are £50 per 1.5 hours.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a National Institute for Care Excellence (NICE) recommended treatment for identifying triggers for depression, anxiety, pain. Professor Mark Williams, Oxford Mindfulness Centre says on the NHS website "It's easy to stop noticing the world around us. It'a also easy to lose touch with the way our bodies are feeling and to end up living "in our heads" - caught up in our thoughts without stopping to notice how those thoughts are driving our emotions and behaviour. An important part of Mindfulness is an awareness of our thoughts and feelings as they happen moment to moment. It's about allowing ourselves to see the present moment clearly. When we do that, it can positively change the way we see ourselves and our lives"

Critical Incident Support

NAVIGATING LIFE can provide workplace support for anyone who has been exposed, either directly or indirectly to an event that has the potential to cause significant distress. Our team is dedicated to assist in providing an organisation and it's personnel to recover from the affects of traumatic incidents which could include:-

  •  death in the workplace

  • accidents

  • robbery and attack.
