NAVIGATING LIFE PRIVACY POLICY

 

NAVIGATING LIFE provides counselling, supervision, group work and support services for employers, individuals, couples and groups.

This policy is information for people on whom we hold information, or are about to hold their information, namely our clients and our associates. NAVIGATING LIFE is committed to ensuring we hold data securely and this policy explains

We treat our responsibilities seriously as an organisation, and as individuals we will always treat your information as important and ensure that we protect its use, access and accuracy.

Why do we hold your data?

NAVIGATING LIFE consists of qualified counsellors and clinical supervisors. To provide our services we hold personal information about our clients.

  • We need personal information e.g. name, date of birth, in order to identify the correct person.

  • We need your personal contacts e.g. telephone number and email address to communicate with you when booking appointments.

  • We need the name of your general practitioner, only to be used should any safeguarding issues arise.

  • We will create confidential notes to ensure the efficacy of our service.

All information is held securely. Only your counsellor will have access to information about you.

We do not and will never sell your information to anyone else.

We do not share your information with anyone else unless a serious safeguarding issue arises. In this event you will be fully informed and involved in the sharing of any necessary information.

We will not use your information to sell you anything or promote any services that are not related to the services provided by NAVIGATING LIFE.

Most of the information we hold is electronic, and in some limited cases we may still hold paper records.

Current legislation gives you the right to make a Subject Access Request. This must be made in writing to Data Controller, NAVIGATING LIFE, 14, Kibbles Brow, Bromley Cross, Bolton BL7 9PD.

Should you have cause to make a complaint about NAVIGATING LIFE services, please contact Ann Grant in the first instance. Should you need to escalate a complaint, all practitioners are BACP ( www.bacp.co.uk) or National Counselling Society Members (www.nationalcounsellingsociety.org).
